Mental Health Challenges Faced by Migrants

Navigating new beginnings while carrying invisible burdens

Migration is often a journey of hope—but it can also be one of profound emotional upheaval. Migrants and refugees frequently face a unique set of mental health challenges shaped by their past experiences, the migration journey itself, and the complexities of resettlement.

🌸 Women’s Health Services at Hamdelan

Supporting women’s wellbeing through every stage of life

At Hamdelan Iranian Cultural House, we prioritise female reproductive health and antenatal care, offering compassionate, culturally attuned support to women at every stage of their journey. Our team—including GPs, midwives, nurses, and dietitians—works collaboratively to address reproductive and gynaecological concerns with dignity and care.

Restoring strength, dignity, and connection through culturally sensitive care

At Hamdelan Iranian Cultural House, we understand that trauma can affect every aspect of a person’s life—from physical health and emotional wellbeing to one’s sense of identity and belonging. Our healing approach combines compassion with evidence-based practice to support individuals and families on their journey toward restoration.

Our team of qualified counsellors, psychologists, and social workers collaborate to offer therapy tailored to each person’s unique circumstances, using approaches such as:

  • 🧠 Cognitive-Behavioural Therapies (CBT)

  • 🎨 Creative Arts Therapies

  • 💬 Trauma-Informed Counselling grounded in cultural values

We provide a safe, welcoming space where individuals feel seen, heard, and supported as they rebuild their lives. Because healing isn’t just about overcoming the past—it’s about rediscovering purpose, community, and self-worth.
